CANCELLATION POLICY
Please be aware that all cancellations will only be considered effective once they have been confirmed in writing.
Guests who make tour and booking arrangements with Desert Compass Tours and Safaris cc must have their own personal or business travel insurance to cover any cancellations or changes to their booking.
If a tour does not take place, Desert Compass Tours and Safaris cc reserves the right to charge cancellation penalties and may also release the reserved tour dates or times if the required deposit or payment has not been made by the due date.
Desert Compass Tours and Safaris cc reserves the right to change deposit requirements during peak periods.
Standard Cancellation Policy:
**Cancellation and No Show Policy:** - **No Shows:** 100% of the full amount is payable.
Cancellations within 0–7 days of arrival:** 100% of the total amount is payable.
Cancellations within 8–21 days of arrival:** 50% of the total amount is payable.
Cancellations within 22–30 days of arrival:** 30% of the total amount is payable.
No refunds will be issued for late check-in or early check-out.
No refunds will be given for services not used.
- All refunds are subject to commission and/or bank charges.
For group bookings, a non-refundable deposit may be required, and a specially negotiated cancellation policy will apply to any bookings that exceed 25% of our capacity.
CANCELLATION REQUESTS DUE TO COVID-19 RELATED REASONS
**Travel Insurance: Important Information on COVID-19 and Cancellations**
Desert Compass has been flexible regarding cancellations due to COVID-19 over the past 20 months. However, since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, these circumstances are no longer viewed as extenuating. We strongly recommend that you review our cancellation policy carefully before making a booking and consider obtaining comprehensive travel insurance that covers COVID-19-related issues. Please note that our cancellation terms apply for all reasons for cancellation.
The South African Government imposes a travel ban and guests are unable to travel.
The government in the guest’s country of origin (or transit country) has imposed a travel ban, preventing guests from traveling. Additionally, either the South African Government or the government in the guest’s country of origin may enforce a mandatory quarantine, making it impossible or undesirable for guests to travel.
